The Big Time Clothing Company story

Big Time Clothing Company is a Melbourne based manufacturing and retail business that designs and creates clothing for larger size women.

What began as an idea between two friends became a reality in 1996, when they decided to start a manufacturing and retail outlet for larger size casual clothing to fill a need that was not met in the clothing industry.

Within 18 months, the demand for even bigger sizes became so great, that the business began to offer the largest size ever created in the Australian clothing industry, size 48-50 or XXL-C.

Big Time Clothing Company not only manufactures casual wear, but also corporate and evening wear. The designs have become more adventurous, with the inclusion of medieval style gowns, capes, skirts and tops.

Pam Gehring and Ruth Schuettke owned it, until early 2004, when Pam Gehring resigned due to ill health and Ruth Schuettke took over the running of the business. In the process, the shop in Dandenong, closed and the business is now fully Internet based.

Through the website, Big Time Clothing Company can reach larger sized women all over the world to give them access to comfortable and well fitting clothes that make them look and feel great, no matter what their size or the occasion.
